PROJECT NAME
COGITO
DATE
September – October 2024
PROJECT TYPE
Motion Design
DESCRIPTION
Created as part of a motion design course, COGITO explores the ethical implications of deepfake technology. The project experiments with a pipeline of generative AI tools—including ThisPersonDoesNotExist for face generation, Live Portrait AI for animation, and HeyGen for clone creation—combined with Adobe After Effects to construct a speculative narrative inspired by Black Mirror. Viewers are introduced to the secret organization COGITO and gradually discover that every individual presented on screen is a synthetic, AI-generated clone. By blurring the boundaries between reality and synthetic media, the project uses fiction as a critical tool to question how artificial intelligence reshapes identity and the construction of truth in contemporary media environments.
